East Africa and Uganda - Kenya and Uganda - KUT

This chapter covers stamps issued from 1903 to the 1960s and inscribed in any of the following ways:

  • East Africa and Uganda Protectorates (1903-22)
  • Kenya and Uganda (1922-35)
  • Kenya Uganda and Tanganyika (1935-60s)

Stamps issued up to 1935 were valid for use in both Kenya and Uganda, though fiscal use of unoverprinted postage and revenue stamps was largely restricted to Kenya since Uganda used the same stamps overprinted 'Uganda Revenue'.  Stamps issued from 1935 were valid in all three territories, but again were rarely used in Uganda.  All stamps listed in this section are assumed to have been used in Kenya only; recorded use in other territories will be footnoted.

Acknowledgments for East Africa and Uganda - Kenya and Uganda - KUT can be found on the main East Africa page.
