Eritrea: Ethiopian (1952-1991) and Independent (1991-present)
Eritrea was federated with Ethiopia in 1950 under a United Nations resolution, and gained independence in 1991 after a long struggle.

Large-format revenue key types of Italian Colonies overprinted Municipio Asmara (=Asmara Municipality) in sans-serif letters, with horizontal bars cancelling original value and new value in Ethiopian dollars. The portrait shows the king facing left on #A32/a and A40, and facing right on all other stamps.
